voice instruction

My methodology in teaching voice centers around correct vocal production. I encourage you as the student to find your own unique sound, regardless of the style you wish to sing, but without unnecessary tension and with proper support. Each lesson is divided into 2 parts: vocal practice and vocal performance. The approach of the practice takes you through a series vocal exercises that focuses on proper vowel production and placement with the support needed to accurately produce your sound. While this technique may be daunting at first, it will allow you to find a more proficient way to sing, freeing your voice and developing your range. The focus of the performance portion will be refining the songs you bring to the lesson that you are working on in order to make practical use of the vocal techniques studied in the first half of the lesson. My lessons are very interactive as I frequently demonstrate and often sing along to encourage each student to open up and not be afraid to sing out. I am a very positive and patient teacher with the ability to work with students of all levels, ages and styles, always making each session enjoyable AND productive. I teach in-person lessons from my home studio in Athens, GA as well as online, so it doesn't matter where you live. Let me help you discover your vocal potential, help you unlock and find your voice, and help you prepare to break through to the next level! What I ask of you is that you are prepared with a notebook of music, an open mind and a willingness to commit to the process. acting instruction

As an actor, it is imperative that you have certain techniques in place in order to achieve your maximum potential. Many of my private acting students are preparing for an audition for a college theater program, upcoming play or TV/Film project that requires rehearsal and, quite frankly, an outside director. Often times when preparing for an audition, one forgets a few basic techniques. Have you broken your scene down into beats?  What is your objective? What is the emotional arch of this character? This is the homework that casting directors and university professors expect you to do before you arrive at the audition. This is where I come in. If you are preparing for an upcoming audition, performance or appearance, or if you just simply want to work on your overall acting technique, I can help you. My one hour private sessions will help you answer these questions and give you the confidence to nail the audition. What I ask of my student is to arrive prepared with an open mind, and a willingness to be directed. I also provide several master classes and enrichment programs for school students of all ages which are catered to their specific needs. For more information, contact me directly.
